Margaret V Evans, 92, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, peacefully passed away on Friday, June 3, 2022.
Born on October 5, 1929, in Bridgeport, CT, she was daughter of the late Margaret Verrilli (DiNapoli) and Rocco Verrilli.
Margie, or better known as Mommy and Gram, was the true matriarch of our family. She was the beginning and the end of every thought, conversation, decision, and event that came to be. A Registered Nurse for many years, she treated her patients with as much love and tenderness as she did her own family. Her greatest love, however, was her grandchildren whom she revered and honored each and every day. She retired from the State of CT to begin the many ensuing years of being the primary caretaker for each grandchild while her children worked. This was not a job to her, but a joy. The sun rose and set on each of them, and she lit up at the chance to tell all how proud she was of the humans they are today. While working many long days as a Director of Nursing, she tirelessly raised her two daughters, selflessly and wholeheartedly. Her endless love for her girls was obvious in everything she did, from putting them through school and always, always being their rock, their go-to, their best friend. Her happy moments were filled with listening to Queen (yes, the rock band, Queen was her favorite), cooking for and feeding her kids and grandkids and their many friends, and endlessly donating to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. If you had the honor to have known her, then no more words need to be said. She was beautiful, in all ways.
Margaret is preceded in death by her father, Rocco Verrilli, mother, Margaret Verrilli, sister, Lucretia Williams, and brother, Robert Verrilli.
Margaret is survived by her daughters Paige Zofcak and Kellie Evans, both of Mt. Pleasant, and her beloved grandchildren, Michael E Zofcak, Jake W. Zofcak, and Gia L. Kondakor.
