Margaret Doreen Cooper Stutts
January 5, 1928 — September 22, 2017
Margaret Doreen Cooper Stutts 89, entered into rest on September 22, 2017 at Hospice of Charleston-Mt. Pleasant, SC surrounded by family. She was predeceased by her husband, William Edward Stutts and her brother, Raymond Leonard Cooper of Birmingham, England.
Margaret, daughter of the late Leonard Edward Cooper and Norah Elizabeth (Shaw)Cooper, was born in Birmingham, England on January 5, 1928.
Margaret was a faithful member of Church of the Good Shepherd since 1968. She was an active member in the church; a long time member of Daughters of the King, a Lay Eucharistic Minister and also active in the Women's Ministry. She and her husband Edward served many years as volunteers at the Soup Kitchen of Crisis Ministries on Meeting Street. She served on the Board of Directors of the Soup Kitchen. Margaret was retired from A& P grocery after more than 25 years of faithful service. She remembered everyone she met and everyone remembered Margaret. She was very proud of her years of service.
Margaret is survived by her son Brian and his wife Nancy Solomon-Stutts of Martinez, Ga. and daughter Linda Sexton and her husband Thomas; granddaughter, Michelle Stutts Johnson(Tim Howard)of Andrews, SC; grandson Thomas Legare Sexton; great grandson Jonathon Barnes of Tyler, Tx.; great granddaughter Cynthia Johnson(Daniel Shimanski) of Washington, DC and great-great grandson Raylin Barnes of Tyler, Texas. Margaret is also survived by her sister Brenda Cooper Stephens and brother Brian Cooper both of Birmingham, England and several nephews and nieces in England and Asia.
The family would like to recognize Margaret's special friends, Gillian Bagley,Jean Martin, Zahare Bellman and Grayce Batson.
A memorial service, officiated by The Reverend Dr. Donnie McDaniel and The Reverend Dan Farley will be held on October 12, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at Church of the Good Shepherd 1393 Miles Dr. Charleston, SC.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Charleston-Mt. Pleasant for their compassion and comfort in Margaret's final days.
