Lynne Mullins Murray, 70, of James Island, SC passed into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. Lynne was born on February 5, 1953 in Bluefield, WV and was the daughter of Allie Mullins neé Conner and Ernest Mullins.
She graduated Bluefield High School in 1971 and joined the Air Force for one complete tour of duty, earning an honorable discharge. After the service she attended Trident Technical College in Charleston, SC, and earned an Associate Degree in Science. She went on to earn a degree in radiologic technology from the Medical University of South Carolina, where she was on the Dean's list on four separate occasions.
She then worked for St. Francis Hospital and several local area medical care centers under the care of Dr. Milton Costa, for approximately 20 years.
For the last 25 years she worked with her husband, son, and daughter-in-law as office manager at American Dock and Marine, helping to grow it into one of the largest residential marine contracting companies in the Low Country.
She loved to travel to tropical destinations. Her favorites being the beaches of the Florida Keys, the Bahamas and Bermuda.
She was a very loving, thoughtful and loyal wife, mother and grandmother and will be very dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Allie, and her four siblings, two brothers, Buddy, and Mickey, and two sisters Joye and Corinne. Lynne is survived by her husband of 42 years, Michael James Murray, her son Erich, and his wife, Judy and their son Sky.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, from 6 to 8 PM at McAllister-Smith Funeral and Cremation on James Island at 347 Folly Rd, Charleston, SC 29412.
A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at 10 AM at Holy Cross Cemetery, 604 Fort Johnson Road, Charleston, SC 29412.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pet Helpers of James Island, https://pethelpers.org/donate/.
