Lynn P. McDonald

Lynn P. McDonald of Charleston, SC and widow of Claude D. McDonald entered into eternal rest on March 17, 2022. Mrs. McDonald was born December 31, 1947 in Charleston, SC to the late Carl A. Puckhaber and Paula S. Puckhaber. Mrs. McDonald retired from the Medical University of SC. She was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. McDonald is survived by her two daughters, Amy Cook of Charleston, SC and Kimberly Syms (James) of Pooler, GA; her son, Tom Thackeray of Newport News, VA; two stepchildren, Chad McDonald and Cary McDonald of Charleston, SC; sister, Nancy Hunter of Franklin, TN; brothers, Skip Puckhaber of Spring Hill, FL and Colin Puckhaber of Manning, SC. Mrs. McDonald had six grandchildren and two step grandchildren, Logan and Erin Cook of Roseland, VA, Brooke and Jaclyn Syms of Pooler, GA, Kaelyn and Abigail Thackeray of Hampton, VA, Cory and Cole McDonald of Charleston, SC. Mrs. McDonald loved her grandchildren. She was happiest playing Uno with her grandkids and doing a silly dance in her driveway each time the grandkids drove away. She was adored by her grandchildren and family and will be dearly missed.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 26, 2022 at the Bethany Cemetery, 10 Cunnington Avenue, Charleston, SC 29405. Services have been entrusted to McAlister-Smith Funeral & Cremation - West Ashley, 2501 Bees Ferry Road, Charleston, South Carolina 29414, (843)-722-8371
