Louise Bradley Mixson

Louise Bradley Mixson, 81, of Meggett, SC, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024.

Born on February 21, 1942, in Charleston, SC, she was the daughter of the late Alberta Livingston Bradley and the late William Bradley.

Lou lived to give and do for others, all she wanted was to see those closest to her happy. She attended nursing school until getting married and starting her family. She loved being a homemaker where she raised her children, looked after her grandchildren, managed a family restaurant, and did the books for her husband’s two businesses. She loved big and she loved hard, mostly through acts of service, especially cooking. No matter the time of day, everyone knew there would be something good cooking in Moma Lou’s kitchen.

In addition to her parents, Louise is preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Howard Mixson and son, James Bradley Mixson.

Lou is survived by her son, Carl "Greg" Mixson (Jenny); grandchildren: Marlynn Richardson (William), Hunter Mixson (Alexis), Jamie Mixson and Katelyn Mixson; great-grandchildren: Clayton and Holden Richardson, and Kadence and Nova Mixson; and brother, Phil Bradley (Mary).

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home West Ashley. The memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
