Louise McGurk, 91, of Charleston, SC, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2015. She was born on Wednesday, October 31, 1923 in Harleyville, SC, a daughter of the late Julia Guyton Cockerill and the late John William Cockerill. “I was especially blessed that I met my Louise, who somehow loved me enough to become my wife, my lover, and my best friend, and to have been my source of strength and comfort for 72 years. Her smile lit up my life from the first day I met her, and I was always able to contend with any stress or crisis in life or business, because she was always there. McGurk, of Charleston, SC; two sons: Bill McGurk and his wife, Karen, of Poway, CA and Bob McGurk and his wife, Jacki of Empire, CO; daughter, Susan Norman and her husband, Jeffry, of Charleston, SC; six grandchildren: Joshua McGurk, Kindra Sclar, Julia Wood, Taegen Haller, Dylan McGurk and Emily Norman; and seven great-grandchildren: William James McGurk, Jackson McGurk, Kaleb Sclar, Wyatt McGurk Wood, Indiana McGurk Wood, Ava Haller, Liam Haller. A graveside service will be held at Live Oak Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at 3:00pm.
