LouAnne Simpson, 87, of Johns Island, SC, (formerly of Ramsey, NJ) passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Monday, February 10, 2025.
Born on December 17, 1937, in Cleveland, Ohio, LouAnne was the daughter of the late Anne Mulloy Monroe and the late Meade Monroe.
LouAnne Simpson will be remembered as a beautiful woman who loved her family. She was baptized in the Catholic church and her education was immersed in the teachings of Catholic schools in the Cleveland, Ohio area. She was raised in a loving home and enjoyed many years boating with her family and friends.
In 1958 she married David Arthur Morse and they began their family together, bringing 2 daughters, Katy and Kelly into the world. Their young family moved to New Jersey for business opportunities, settling into the Ramsey Golf & Country Club, where LouAnne lived for over 50 years. She was an avid golfer, tennis, and paddle tennis player who loved to play (and win) in tournaments. She was also a great hostess who loved entertaining friends and dressed in style for parties and events. She enjoyed playing bridge, card games, and cribbage.
When her marriage to David A. ended, she found love again with Robert Simpson and they were married on April 17, 1993. Their 32 years of marriage together were filled with family, friends, and many adventures traveling worldwide. She embraced her role as Grandma/GiGi to her 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren who all loved her dearly. Her final years were spent in South Carolina in the lovely community of Seabrook Island where they made many new friends. Spending time with her beloved husband Bob and their dog Jessie, her days were filled with joy and purpose. LouAnne lived her last year valiantly fighting an incurable form of cancer. Her courage and determination to do whatever she could to prolong her life was an inspiration to all who knew her. Her last days were spent in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loved ones. Though she will be greatly missed, we remember her life as vibrant, full of laughter and love, and we are grateful that she is now resting in peace.
In addition to her parents, LouAnne is preceded in death by her brother James Monroe.Louanne is survived by her husband, Robert Simpson; daughters, Katy Morse (Charles Bodony) and Kelly Hasslinger (Darrell Hasslinger); stepsons Pete Simpson (Merrill Simpson) and Mark Simpson (Bria Simpson); grandchildren Abby Palmer, Raven McMillen, Kyle Hasslinger, Brandon Hasslinger, Will Simpson, Parker Simpson, Charleston Simpson, Cameron Simpson, MacKenzi Simpson, Jaden Simpson, and great-grandchildren Lucy Palmer and Brooke Hasslinger.
