Lloyd L. Jackson, 75, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 28, 2018.
Lloyd was born on February 21, 1943 in Awendaw, SC to the late Samuel T. Jackson, Sr. and the late Sadie S. Jackson. He was a retired Diesel Tech with Superior Diesel.
Lloyd was a very talented and hard-working diesel mechanic. When he was on the job, he gave 100%. He worked alongside his brother Elwood for many years tearing down and rebuilding diesel engines. He worked hard but enjoyed and took great pride in a job well done. He was a huge fan of NASCAR racing. His all-time favorite was Dale Jarrett, #88.
Lloyd loved his family and spending time with them. He did not like going to doctors or taking medicine… so he didn’t. You can say he lived life his way and when death came, he entered into peaceful rest.
Lloyd is survived by his sisters: Florence Megna and Joyce Jackson, both of Mt. Pleasant, SC; his brothers: Bruce Jackson and Elwood Jackson, both of Awendaw, SC; step-daughters: Ann Hewett of Dunwoody, GA and Robin Barber of White Bluff, TN.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jackie Jackson and his sister, Susie Ody.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
Burial will follow the service at Wilson Cemetery, Awendaw, SC.
