It is with both sadness and celebration that we announce the passing of Linda M. Wade, who departed this life on February 21, 2025, at the age of 83. Linda was born on August 28, 1941, and spent her life spreading warmth and joy to all who are fortunate enough to have known her.
For nearly fifty-four years, Linda was happily married to Billy, the love of her life. Their relationship was a testament to enduring happiness, as they proudly boasted of never having a single argument—an achievement that many have found hard to believe. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, friend, and matriarch of our family and always gave extra effort to making things special for those she loved. Hallmark was the only place to choose just the right cards for birthdays and other milestones we celebrated. She loved her sassy little dachshund, Charlie, which she called her shadow. Christmas was her absolute favorite holiday and she would light up while we opened gifts as a family and shared the holiday. Even Linda's friendships from childhood blossomed into an inseparable bond that she cherished throughout her life. Her friends, fondly known as “The Golden Girls,” regularly gathered to play canasta, making countless memories that filled their hearts with joy and laughter. Throughout her life, Linda wore her favorite color, pink. It served not only as her signature color but also as a reflection of her vibrant personality, and being a proud native Charlestonian, “Hey Dahlin” was her favorite Southern way to greet everyone.
Linda is survived by her loving husband Robert “Billy” Wade, her daughter Lisa MacNair, son Robert “Robbie” Wade, and brother Lawrence “Larry” Mullen, as well as many other loving relatives and lifelong friends who will miss her dearly.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Charleston Hope Lodge where, as a cancer survivor, she loved volunteering. https://www.cancer.org/support-programs-and-services/patient-lodging/hope-lodge/charleston.html
With a glow about her that lit up her surroundings, she never met a stranger. She was truly beautiful both inside and out.
