Leonard Frank Fiume

Leonard Frank Fiume, 96, of Daniel Island, SC died on Friday, September 25, 2015. He was born on June 29, 1919 in Jersey City, NJ to the late Mrs. Assunta Fiume and the late Mr. Daniel Donato Fiume. Leonard resided on Daniel Island, SC where he enjoyed his hobbies of painting, cooking, model ship building, computers and music. He was a WWII Army veteran having served 4 years in the Pacific Theater. A healthy and active man, his passing was unexpected but family and friends are grateful for his long, active life and his passion for helping and caring for others. Leonard F Fiume is survived by his son, Leonard Fiume of Mt. Pleasant, SC: his grandson, Leonard B Fiume, of New Bern NC; his granddaughter, Lauren Derrenbacher of Chapel Hill, NC; and his great grandson, Connor Derrenbacher, of Chapel Hill, NC. He was predeceased by his parents and his loving second wife, Alma, of 43 years. A Memorial Service will be held at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, 1520 Rifle Range Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464 at 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 3, 2015. Memorial donations may be made in his honor to Hospice of Charleston, 676 Wando Park Blvd., Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464.
