Leon Albert Stelling

Leon Albert Stelling, 80, of Charleston, SC, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 20, 2019.
He was born on November 16, 1938 in Miami, FL, son of the late Lillian Mae Johns Stelling and the late John Henry Stelling.
Besides his parents, Leon was preceded in death by his son, Keith Janssen and his wife, Mary Jean Stelling.
He is survived by his sons: Leon Stelling, Jr. of Williamston, SC and Carl Janssen (Cindy) of Belton, SC; daughters: Karen Lozada (Eric) of Charleston, SC and Donna Vaughn (Bryan) of Pelzer, SC; more grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren than he could count.
Leon loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed watching sports - all day, every day. He loved traveling, going out to eat and spending time at home with family. His family will remember him as a giving, caring, compassionate man.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, from 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home West Ashley, with a celebration of life service to follow at 1:30 PM.
