Leah 'Betty' Elizabeth Hennessy (Ravenel)

Leah “Betty” Elizabeth Hennessy, 88, of Mt. Pleasant, SC entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 6, 2016. She was born December 12, 1927 in Charleston, SC to the late Mrs. Leah E Siebert Ravenel and the late Mr. Frank Ravenel. Betty was a graduate of Sacred Heart School, Bishop England High School, and St. Francis Xavier School of Nursing. She was passionate about her career as a nurse. She and “Big Billy” enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. Betty was a devoted Catholic and a longtime member of Christ Our King Catholic Church. All who knew her will remember her as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, friend and most assuredly a party girl. She is survived by two sons, William J. Hennessy, Jr. (Debbie), and Frank B Hennessy (Kathy), both of Mount Pleasant, SC; three grandchildren, Leah, Jake and Sarah Hennessy; two daughters-in-law, Paula B. Hennessy and Carolyn W. Hennessy; cousin, Peggy; many loving friends and O.L.O.P.S. Members. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 46 years, William Hennessy, Sr.; and her son, Mark P. Hennessy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Christ Our King Catholic Church, 1149 Russell Drive, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464 on Thursday, April 14th, 2016 at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers Memorial donations may be made in her honor to Christ Our King Catholic Church, 1122 Russell Drive, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464 and The Society of St. Vincent De Paul, 1149 Russell Drive, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464, or East Cooper Meals On Wheels, PO box 583, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29465.
