Lawton was born on January 23, 1945, in Charleston, SC, son of the late Lawton Joseph Craven, Sr. and Daisy Belle Carter Craven. Lawton retired from The Charleston Couty School Bus Shop. He loved to farm, work on tractors, farm equipment, and automobiles. Most of all he loved his family.
Surviving are his sister Lorraine Craven of Johns Island, nephew Edward B. Craven, Jr. "Dink" (Cindy Lea) of Ravenel, niece Cynthia M. Shiell (Jamie) of Givhans, two great-nephews: Johnathan White and Leland Shiell of Givhans and a great-niece Summer Shiell of Givhans.
Lawton J. Craven, Jr., 75, of Johns Island (Mattis), SC entered into eternal rest as his home on Saturday, August 22, 2020.
Friends and family are invited to attend his visitation on Tuesday, August 25, 2020, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral and Cremation, 2501 Bees Ferry Road, Charleston, SC.
The service will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, at 11:00 am at McAlister-Smith Funeral and Cremation, 2501 Bees Ferry Road, Charleston, SC. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the burial will be private for the family only.
Flowers will be accepted.
