Lawrence Ray Shiner Jr.

Lawrence Ray Shiner Jr., 60, of Moncks Corner, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017. Born in Winchester, Virginia to Lawrence and Juanita (Payne) Shiner. He graduated from Goose Creek High School and then obtained his degree in Industrial Welding from Trident Technical College. He was a proud member of the local 508 Union and First Baptist Church of Goose Creek. Larry enjoyed taking his wife fishing and shrimping. He was an avid Redskins fan, but also enjoyed attending Sting Rays hockey games and never missed a Goose Creek Gator Friday night football game. Larry’s devotion as a family man was unsurpassed; and the respect from his co-workers speaks volumes of his dedication towards his work. He is survived by his wife Linda Radd Shiner of Moncks Corner; daughter, Amanda Shiner Venneman and her husband Jeremiah of Moncks Corner; son, Daniel Shiner of Moncks Corner; sister, Wanda Jean Clark of Summerville; brothers, Scott Shiner and his wife Jo Ann of Cross, Ronald Shiner and his wife Staci of Goose Creek, and Tony Shiner and his wife Kris of Lynchburg, TN; and eight grandchildren. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving daughter, Christina Shiner. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 5, 2017 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, Goose Creek Chapel. The Funeral Service will be Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. A burial will follow at Whispering Pines Memorial Gardens, Moncks Corner.
