Kylie Erin Gillette, 17, of Johns Island, passed away August 16, 2014. She was born June 20, 1997 in Daytona Beach, FL, a daughter of Ron Gillette and Lisa Seman Gillette. She was a student at James Island Charter High School and was ranked number three in her class. She enjoyed studying French, where she won the National French competition and was in the National Honor Society. She enjoyed horseback riding, soccer, going to the beach with her friends, piano, cheerleading, and shopping. Her family remembers her as being energetic, passionate and full of life. She had a love for animals and was a wonderful daughter and sister. She was a friend to all she met. Kylie was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Cherrie Jones Seman. Survivors include her parents Ron and Lisa Gillette, one sister, Cassidy Gillette, all of Johns Island, her paternal grandparents, Mary Ann and Tom Stall of Spartanburg, paternal grandparents, Ron Gillette, Sr. and his wife Laura Gillette, maternal grandfather, Ted Seman and his wife Judy of Jacksonville, FL, a number of loving aunts and uncles, numerous cousins and she leaves behind many friends. A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at 2:00pm at Ashley River Baptist Church, 1101 Savannah Highway, Charleston, SC 29407. Rev. Kent Williams will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm (one hour prior to the service) at Ashley River Baptist Church.
