Kimberly Ruth Carroll, 63, of Johns Island, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2019.
She was born on September 8, 1955, in Schenectady, New York, daughter of the late Marjorie Sprague Ruth and William Ruth.
Kimberly was preceded in death by her sister Kathy Brougham.
She is survived by her husband and high school sweetheart of 50 years Thomas Carroll of Johns Island, South Carolina; children, Kelly Julian (Travis) and Rachael Carroll (Bobby Davis); Grandchildren, Isaiah, Blakely and Abel; sisters, Kris Barbuti (Bob), Kandy Hammersmith (Larry); and a number of nieces and nephews as well as close friends.
Kim had one of the strongest and most beautiful hearts. She was compassionate, caring and resilient. She loved writing songs and even penned a “romance” story. Kim enjoyed music, the beach and the view from her screened porch. She loved Charleston and living on the coast. Kim was very athletic and enjoyed sports, especially softball. Kim’s faith was an important part of her life. Above all else, Kim valued her family, especially her grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on June 10th from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. A Celebration of Life with a reception to follow will begin at 12:00 pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, 2501 Bees Ferry Road, Charleston, SC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Coastal Conservation League of Charleston, SC.
