Kevin Allen Jenkins

CHARLESTON - Kevin Allen Jenkins, 58, of James Island, husband of Gloria B. Jenkins, died at his residence on Thursday, March 27, 2014 surrounded by his family. Kevin was born in Asheville, NC on September 2, 1955 to the late Kenneth Allen and Eileen Lawing Jenkins. He was a self-employed electrical contractor. He was a family man who liked to cook, enjoy good foods and new restaurants. He attended the College of Charleston and was a graduate of Neilson Electronics Institute. He became a self-employed electrical contractor in 1985. For the last twenty years he's been concentrating on restaurant work. In addition to his wife of 34 years, he is survived by two sons, Christopher Jenkins and Kevin Jenkins, Jr; two daughters, Emily Jenkins and Caroline Jenkins, all of Charleston; three brothers, Keith Jenkins of Rock Hill, SC, James Jenkins of Charleston and Jeffery Jenkins of Columbus, NC. He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Deborah Clark of Rock Hill, SC. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 on Monday,March 31, 2014 at McALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, JAMES ISLAND CHAPEL, 347 Folly Rd., Charleston, SC 29412. There will be a Funeral Service Monday, March 31, 2014 at 11am at the funeral home. A Graveside Service will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Ft. Johnson Rd, Charleston.
