Kelly Danielle Carson

Kelly Danielle Carson, 52 of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2024, after a seizure leading to a fatal head injury. 

Kelly was born on January 15, 1972, in Miami, FL. Kelly was a daughter of Daniel DeHart Carson and Gail Nancy (Eisenbach) Carson. She grew up in Indialantic, Florida. Kelly graduated at the top of her class at Florida State University. She continued at FSU for her master's and graduated magna cum laude in School Phycology. She loved the idea of helping children. 

Kelly’s dedication to those she loved was abundant. As the eldest daughter, Kelly was like a second mother to the youngest three. She was protective, loving and creatively made-up fun games. She was always studious while being a great athlete. There was no greater gift than her son, Sawyer. She loved being his mother. In his youth, they continuously shared so much fun and laughter. He brought her such joy! Kelly was always orderly and knew definitively what her goals were. She had a passion for music and connecting to friends. She loved all animals but especially her dogs. She loved animals so much she became a vegan because she did not like the idea of them being killed. Kelly was dearly loved by all her family, and they all knew how much she loved them back. Their hearts will always miss her beautiful soul...but they know she will be cheering loud from heaven! 

Kelly is survived by her son, Sawyer Minton (17); parents, Daniel and Gail Carson; sisters Elizabeth Baker (Michael) and Gwendolyn Carson (Terry); brothers Matthew Carson and Christopher Carson; nephews, Carson Baker (19), Chase Carson (9), Noah Carson (5); nieces, Kaya Baker (15), Skylar Carson (12). 

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 17, 2024, from 3:00-4:00pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral and Cremation – Mount Pleasant, 1520 Rifle Range Road, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464. 

The Memorial Service will follow at 4:00pm, also at McAlister-Smith Funeral and Cremation – Mount Pleasant.
