Kathleen Marie Castiglione (McSherry)

Funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Kathleen McSherry Castiglione will be held at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home on James Island. Kathleen, born September 22, 1938, in Brooklyn, N.Y., passed on April 6, 2014, in Charleston, her home for 29 years. She will be laid to rest at Beaufort National Cemetery, with her husband of 36 years, Mr. Louis Castiglione, for whom she was a loving widow. She is survived by her loving companion, Alton Phillips; her children, Colleen Castiglione [Charleston], Vincent Castiglione (Olivia Castiglione) [Charleston], and James Castiglione (Valerie Castiglione) [Mineola, N.Y.]; her siblings, Patricia Montrowl [Martha's Vineyard, M.A.], Joseph McSherry [Flagler Beach, F.L.], and John McSherry [Centereach, N.Y.]; grandchildren, Nicole Coffman, Erica Castiglione, Julia Castiglione, Gianna Castiglione, Erin Castiglione, Jean Rose Ambrose, and Toni Ann Castiglione; five great-grandchildren; and a host of loving friends. She was preceded in death by a sister, Jackie Carnachio. She was an active member at Elks Lodge 242, the Charleston Rifle Club, and the American Legion, where she graced others with her charismatic personality and her love of dancing.
