On June 5, 2018, Karen James Madory, beloved wife and mother, left this world after a brief and unexpected struggle. She leaves behind her husband of 53 years, James, and her children Jim, Lynn Anne, Scott, and Elizabeth. She was welcomed home by her sons Joseph and Michael, who passed before her.
Born to John and Helen Clifford on March 26, 1942 in Danbury, Connecticut, she soon moved to Staten Island, New York. It was there she grew up with her sister, Faith, and her brother, Danny. It was there she graduated from New Dorp High School. It was there she met and married James.
She raised a family who adored her and in turn gave her two new daughters, Becky and Trixie, two new sons, Bill and Travis, and eight grandchildren, Ella Rose, Drake, Xander, Rachael, Lila, Ruby Skye, Jimmy, and Andrew, all of whom she loved very, very much.
She will be remembered for her warmth and kindness, for her generosity and hospitality, for her effortless and elegant beauty. She will be remembered for her love of animals, but most especially her dogs and her horses. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family and her faith, and for her quiet, seemingly unshakable strength, for she knew she would have life eternal with Jesus Christ.
The family invites friends to visit at St. Theresa The Little Flower Catholic Church on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 10:00AM until 12:00AM. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:30PM. The church is located at 11001 Dorchester Rd, Summerville, SC 29485.
Karen will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Cemetery 1000 SC-544, Conway, SC 29526 on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 2:00PM.
