Kandee Lee Perih

August 17, 1948 — September 28, 2021

Kandee Lee (Haick) Perih, 73, of Summerville, South Carolina, died Tuesday morning, September 28, 2021, at Roper St. Francis Berkeley Hospital.

Kandee was born in Binghamton, NY on August 17, 1948. She was predeceased by her parents, James and Marguerite Haick.

Kandee could be spotted wearing red ruby slippers, saying "There's no place like home," but to her husband, daughters, grandchildren, and friends, Kandee was home. She was a home-maker for 53 years, providing constant, unconditional love and support to her family and friends. She was a fighter, not just in her battle with cancer, but throughout her entire life, perfectly willing to stand up, loudly, to anyone who dared to cross her loved ones. However, her fierce loyalty does not wholly encapsulate Kandee's spirit. Her generosity and thoughtfulness marked every interaction she had; her "Ph.D. in Retail Therapy" ensured that each loved one received an expertly curated Christmas gift or flea market knick-knack from Kandee.

Kandee was full of life, and this shined through most, perhaps, with her girlfriends, where she will forever be remembered as Kandee-Lou-Hoo, one of the most fun and caring ladies of the bunch.

Even when she was not on a girl's trip, Kandee exuded fun with her family. She could be found keeping up with her grandchildren who will forever regard her as "The Best Grandma in the Whole Wide World".

Kandee had the exceptional gift of making every one of her people feel like her absolute favorite. She leaves each one of us with unique life lessons, delicious recipes, an example of utmost strength, plus a lifetime of love.

She was survived by her husband, Gene Perih, her brother, James and Joanne Haick, her sister Melissa and Curt Newton, her daughters, Jenneane and Jack Leach and Leslie and Rob Morris, her grandchildren, Maggie, Kate, and Audrey Leach, Fletcher Valk, Quinn Morano, and Joseph Morris, and her special friend and caregiver, Marianne Sivak.

Expressions of sympathy may be viewed or submitted online at www.mcalister-smith.com. A celebration of Kandee's life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to McAlister-Smith Funeral and Cremation, 869 St James Ave, Goose Creek, SC 29445
