Joyce (Joy) Wellborn Shellhaas, 85, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, passed away in September, 2018.
She was born on August 28, 1933 in Emporia, Kansas, daughter of Marjorie Buffon and Rankin Wellborn.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and oldest sister Shirley Norris, brothers-in-law, Mo Norris and Bob Dillon. She is survived by her sister Lois Dillon of Pomona, KS; sons Greg Shellhaas (LeAnn) of Louisville, KY and Scott Shellhaas (Maranda) of Mount Pleasant; grandchildren Jordan Shellhaas, Gates Shellhaas and Parker Shellhaas, nieces and nephews Josie Norris, Mike Norris (Jane), Kay Norris, Steve Dillon (Susie), Mark Dillon (Sue), Julie McNerney (Pat).
Joyce graduated from Lyndon High School, attended Kansas University and was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She married and moved from Kansas to Lexington, KY in 1963 and raised her family. In 2002 she moved to her current residence. Joyce was a faithful member of St Andrews Church, Drawing near to God and a weekly bible study.
A memorial service will be held at St. Andrews Church, 440 Whilden St. in old Mt Pleasant on Friday October 12th at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Drawing Near to God, www.joanneellison.com/memorial-donations or Why Not Charleston, www.whynotcharleston.com/donate, local non-profit organizations near to Joyce's heart.
