Joyce A Wright

June 3, 1944 — September 24, 2021

Joyce Ann Frierson Wright of Summerville, South Carolina peacefully left this world to be with her late parents, siblings' family, and friends at home on September 24, 2021.
Joyce was born June 3, 1944, in Sumter, South Carolina to Ret. Charleston City Police Captain Sam H. Frierson Sr. and Lottie Mae Fleming Frierson both of Charleston South Carolina. Joyce still beamed with pride over her father's committed service to the Holy City and told several stories of his Charleston Police "firsts" as his K9 Shepherd Program and The Special Tactical Force. Joyce happily took notes when her dad had thoughts and ideas at home which only rooted her deeper with love for her Charleston community.

Joyce was a Rivers high school graduate, and Enjoyed telling countless stories of meeting up with friends after school at the Piggy Park and also spending time at "Folly" listening to music. She was an amazingly gifted artist and had a strong knack in debating any topic that she had on her mind and would often "play" the unpopular side just to make you think a little "outside the box". She loved the new age of social media and dove into many forums promoting the ideals of our former president without hesitation and never yielded to any pressure to change her deep-rooted beliefs and opinions.
Joyce maintained that she was Baptist by birth Jewish by Faith. Although very much an independent thinking woman she chose to forgo a career in order to stay home and raise her children to know and experience life through her eyes.

Survived by Her children Dana Edwards (Jim) of Monks Corner, Robbie Wright (Amber), Maggie Wright (Larry) of Goose Creek, Bitzie Wright (Nelson) of Summerville and Sister-in-law Margie Frierson of Columbia
Grandchildren Brent Pennington (Brandee), Brittany Wright, Troy Aratan, Braylee Wright, Anleigh Wright, Aniston Wright and Great Grandson Matthew Pennington.

She was predeceased by Grandson Stephen Pennington and Granddaughter Kenleigh Wright,
