Johnny Liston Hardee

Johnny Liston Hardee, 75 of Goose Creek, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 20, 2025.

Born on January 29, 1950, in Horry County, South Carolina, Johnny was the husband of Judith L. Hardee (Judi); the son of the late Brittie Dunn Hardee, and the late Harvey Liston Hardee; and the grandson of the late Marion Dunn, and the late Ethel Dunn.

Johnny enjoyed a variety of activities with his family and friends that included hunting, fishing, golfing, and in his younger years surfing. He retired after 30 plus years from Westvaco Paper Mill, Charleston. He was a Combat Veteran of the US Army Signal Corps having served in South Carolina, Ft. Monmouth, New Jersey; Sattahip,Thailand; Ft. Buckner, Okinawa; and White Sands, New Mexico. 

Johnny is preceded in death by his parents, Brittie Dunn Hardee Chestnut, and Harvey L. Hardee; by a sister, Cheryl Myers; and by his grandparents, Marion and Ethel Dunn.

Johnny is survived by his wife of 56 plus years, Judith Hardee; a daughter, Shannon Lifsey (Jimmy); two sons, Kevin Hardee and Travis Hardee (Annika); three grandchildren, Tyler Lifsey, Lauren Brennan (Neith), and Justin Lifsey; two sisters, Sandra Frye (Shelley), and Lynette Brown (Chuck); several nieces, and nephews, and several great-nieces and great-nephews; and one grandpup, Zeppelin.

The memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, with visitation at noon and funeral service at 1:00pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral & Cremation, 869 St James Avenue, Goose Creek, SC 29445.

Interment immediately following the funeral service at Riverview Memorial Park, 3715 Azalea Drive, North Charleston, SC 29405.
