John Curtis Reiter

John Curtis Reiter, 75, originally of Emporium, PA, passed away in South Carolina on Tuesday, August 20, 2024.

Born on October 15, 1948, in Punxsutawney, PA, he was the son of the late Nola Nichols Reiter and the late Kenneth Carl Reiter.

John was a graduate of Dubois High School, class of "67". He was a decorated U.S. Army veteran who served during Vietnam as a Med Tech. John worked at GKN, formerly Pennsylvania Pressed Metals, in Emporium, PA for 40 years. John was a 35 year 32° Mason with the Driftwood-Emporium Lodge #532 and a Past Master of Emporium Lodge #382. He was a member of the Scottish Rite, Coudersport Consistory. In his lifetime John was a member of the Endless Mountains Chapter 34 A.B.A.T.E of PA. He loved watching NASCAR, Richard Petty, camping with his family, his cowboy boots, and changing the months in his Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Calendars.

John is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Kenneth C. Reiter of Reynoldsville, PA; and his wife, Deanna V. Reiter of Emporium, PA.

John is survived by his daughter, Patricia J. Cool (Robert) of SC; his son, William C. Reiter (Monica) of FL; Tammy L. Cella (Matt) of PA; his seven grandchildren, Tiffany, Brandon, Brittany, Blake, Kyle, Brenda, and Connor; and his nine great-grandchildren, Carson, Eleanor, Pheobe, Mason, Maverick, Xander, Zaros, Braxton, and Brayden.

A celebration of life will be planned for the spring of 2025 for family and friends.
