John "Jack" Gerald Urbanic

John “Jack” Gerald Urbanic, 74, of Mount Pleasant, SC died, Tuesday, December 19, 2017. Born in Lorain, Ohio to the late John Urbanic and Susan Urbanic Tomazic, nee Reber. Jack was an avid tennis player, loved the beach and had a great smile with a contagious laugh. He was a school psychologist for 30 + years and actively volunteered with the Knights of Columbus and Stella Maris Catholic Church. Within the Knights of Columbus he rose to the 4th degree and was a member of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Gerry Urbanic of Mt. Pleasant; daughters, Peggy Urbanic of Mt. Pleasant and Jackie (Rob) Waller of Portland, OR; son, Jim (Kathy) Urbanic of Carlsbad, CA; grandchildren, Megan, Clare, Sarah, and James; and Gracie the dog. A Funeral Service will be held, Friday, December 22, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Stella Maris Catholic Church, 1204 Middle Street, Sullivan’s Island, SC 29482. A burial will immediately follow at Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 21, 2017 from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM at McALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, MT. PLEASANT CHAPEL.
