John Pickup

John Pickup, 66, resident of Bluffton, SC, and formerly of Montrose, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, January 12, 2024.

He is survived by his wife, Michelle Pickup; daughter, Lauren Wiseman; son, Ryan Pickup; grandchildren, Macey Wiseman and Evan Wiseman; mother, Barbra Zoll; and siblings: Deborah Mahoney, Nancy Greiner, Thomas Pickup, Timothy Pickup, Pamela Ashdown. He was preceded in death by his father, John Pickup.

John loved his family and his many friends. He was passionate about the NY Yankees, the Buffalo Bills, and his golf game. The only way John knew how to do things was the right way. He was honest, hardworking, and lived life to its fullest. He retired from a successful career with General Mills after 40+ years. He will be greatly missed and always loved by so many.

Family will receive friends and family for a Memorial Service on Sunday, January 14, 2024, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at McAlister-Smith Funeral & Cremation, 1520 Rifle Range Road Mt. Pleasant, SC, 29464.

In lieu of flowers, family is asking to make donations in John's name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or American Diabetes Association.
