John H. Gannon, 83, of Goose Creek, passed away August 6, 2014. Born in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late Edward and Ida Mueller Gannon. John graduated from St. Patrick’s High School and joined the United States Navy, where he served his country for thirty years, retiring as a Commander, Medical Service Corps. He received his Bachelor of Science from The George Washington University and his Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University. John was a member of American Legion Post 166, life member of Veteran of Foreign Wars, Military Officers of America, Fleet Reserve Association Branch #269 and Disabled American Veterans Association. He enjoyed collecting coins and bowling, where he was a Life Member and Hall of Fame Member of the Beaufort Bowling Association. He is survived by five sons, Shawn D. Gannon of Goose Creek, Jack B. Gannon of Beaufort, Robert C. Bogley of Chester, VA, Alan L. Bogley of Williamsport, MD and Roger T. Bogley of Spokane, WA; sister, Geraldine F. Glazier of Lombard, IL. Mr. Gannon is also survived by ten grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his brother, Edward J. Gannon. A graveside memorial service will be held Thursday, August 14, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Beaufort National Cemetery.
