John F. Tatara, 81, of Bonneau, died March 25, 2015. Born in Adrian, MI, he was the son of the late John and Elinor Tatara and husband to the late Barbara Tatara. After high school, John joined the United States Navy, serving on the USS Haynesworth during the Korean War. He worked at Dupont for many years, retiring as a Production Operator. John was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and was a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed fishing and being with his family. He is survived by his four sons, John Tatara, Jr. of Columbia, Richard Tatara of Bonneau, Nolan Tatara of Bonneau and Rolan Tatara and wife Jaime of Moncks Corner; two daughters, Mary Clark and husband Tony of Bonneau and Tina Schurlknight and husband Randy of Macedonia; brother, Eugene Tatara of Trenton, GA; sister, Bernadine Flippo of Arizona; ten grandchildren, Jillian C. Martin, Leann R. Clark, Wesley L. Shurlknight, Stephany S. Ipock, Randall J. Shurlknight, Francis Broad, Patricia Benton, Tara Flowe, Bridgett Tatara and Baylee Tatara; Half-brothers and sisters Donald Tatara, Terry Lambright, Morton Lee Tatara, and Charissa Dunham. John is also survived by his nine great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, wife, daughter, Adele Bishop and sister, Jeanette Brodrick. All services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the American Lung Association.
