Jocelyne Dominique Marie Danielson, 80 of Seabrook Island, South Carolina passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023. Born on July 21, 1943 in Chatenay, Saone-at-Loire, France, she was a Daughter of (the late) Marguerita Baudet (Dalla Vedova) and Georges Baudet.
Josy moved to the United States from France to work as an au-pere for a family in New York. This is where she was introduced to, and later married Gene Danielson. They soon welcomed their daughter, Sandrine into their lives in New Paltz, New York.
At this time Josy also began her career in the French Press section at the United Nations in Manhattan NY. She traveled all over the world with the United Nations and loved the places, the people, and the wonders of the world that this career brought her. Through her time at the United Nations, she developed relationships with coworkers who became family to her, and they had a great impact on Josy and her own family.
Josy was also an avid reader, loved French music, especially Piaf and Adamo. She loved to walk through Manhattan, the Catskills of upstate New York, Paris, and she enjoyed being in the South of France with family. In more recent years her home was here in the low country, and she strolled the beaches of Seabrook Island. The walks allowed her to catch up and reminisce with family and beloved friends. They were very simple, but special times we loved to spend with her, and the connections made were priceless for all.
Josy always spoke with such pride about her husband Gene who had an amazing career with IBM, and daughter Sandrine who has a career in architecture and construction. Josy’s grandchildren Olivia and Gabriel brought her so much love and were her purest of joys.
She is preceded in death by Georges Baudet (Father), Marguerita Baudet (Mother) and her husband Eugen Danielson.
She is survived by Sandrine Danielson (Daughter), Jared Fisher (son-in-law), Jacques Baudet (Brother), Claude Sanz (Sister), Dominique Chauzal (Sister), and her beloved grandchildren Gabriel and Olivia.
Her legacy will continue to live on through the countless lives she touched. She leaves behind a world that is brighter because of her presence; let us celebrate her life and the impact she had on every one of us. She will forever remain in our hearts.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life to remember the love and legacy of Josy and her beloved Gene at a later date.
