Joan Lorraine Whitcomb, 85, of Mount Pleasant , South Carolina died, Wednesday, June 6, 2018.
She was born on July 28, 1932 in East Swanzey, New Hampshire to Maurice and Elizabeth (Utter) Goodell.
Mrs. Whitcomb was a lifetime member of Sullivan's Island Baptist Church and a career military wife.
She is survived by her daughter Deborah Crowell of Mt. Pleasant, SC, son Daniel Whitcomb (Sandra) of Ladson, SC; three grandchildren, Christen Crowell Pilkinton of TN, USAF Capt Corey Whitcomb Crowell of CO, Mary Kate Whitcomb of Ladson, SC; two great-grandchildren, Garrett and Allison Pilkinton of TN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Whitcomb and her daughter Patricia.
The family will receive friends on June 9, 2018 from 5:00PM - 7:00PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, 1520 Rifle Range Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC, 29464.
The Celebration of Life Service will be held June 10, 2018 at 3:00PM at Sullivan's Island Baptist Church, 1753 Central Ave, Sullivan's Island, SC, 29482. A burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464.
