Jill Amy Zarchin, beloved daughter of the late Blanche and Irving Zarchin, died on Friday evening, November 20th at the too young age of 65. Brave Jill lost a long fight with cancer. Jill, born in New York, lived and worked all over the world, but settled in the Mt. Pleasant area some years ago. Jill was an accomplished woman, with multiple graduate degrees and extensive professional experience overseas. Jill was a beautiful woman and truly one of God's gentle people. When told of her death here is a very telling description of Jill from a longtime Hungarian close friend: I am in tears and so sorry… She was so precious for me and such a good person. It should not have been her time yet… she gave so much to the people around her. So sweet, accepting, tolerant, funny, joyful, caring, understanding, loving person she was. The only comfort I find is knowing her strong belief and sure she finds the way to God. I am proud to know her and have her as a friend for 20 something years over time and several continents. Love. Family and friends may gather at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, 1520 Rifle Range Road on Friday, November 27, 2015 from 10 am to 5 pm. On the 1st of December Jill will be laid to rest next to her parents in New York City. May God hold her in the palm of his hand.
