Jerry Thomas Pierce Jr.

Mr. Jerry Thomas Pierce, Jr., 54, husband of Tracy Pierce, of James Island, was restored anew on Wednesday, January 21, 2015. As the sun shone through the window across his face, Jerry joined God on Heaven’s beach. Jerry Thomas Pierce, Jr. was born on January 4, 1961 in St. Mary’s, Maryland to Jerry T. Pierce, Sr. and Patricia Pierce. Jerry was a partner of Charleston Remodeling, Inc. for over 25 years. As a young man he was a volunteer fireman with the City of Folly Beach. Jerry was awarded an accommodation from the State of South Carolina for saving a drowning child’s life on Folly Beach. He was a lifetime member of Folly Beach Anglers. He loved and always supported many local organizations that benefited children. Jerry lived his life choosing happiness every day. The family would like to thank the many doctors and nurses who provided care for Jerry during his 5 year battle with cancer. They would also like to thank the many friends and family members who gave around the clock care while he was home. Survivors include his wife Tracy; 4 children, Justin, Estee, Egal and Carolina; 1 grandson, Chaston; 1 brother, Jeff Pierce of Charleston; 7 sisters, Kathy Blair (Cotton) of N. Charleston, Sharon Counce (Bill ) of Tampa, FL, Linda Hames (Bud) of James Island, Janice Benson of Surprise, Arizona, Lisa Barker of Jacksonville, FL, Kim Corbett (Robert) of James Island and Karen Hames (Chris) of James Island, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 from 4-6 at Folly Beach Methodist Church, 118 W. Indian Ave, Folly Beach, SC 29439. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at 2:00pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, James Island Chapel, 347 Folly Rd., Charleston, SC 29412.
