Jennifer Kay Cox

Jennifer "Jenni" Kay Cox, 38, of Myrtle Beach, SC, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024. Jenni was the epitome of life, laughter, and love. Her departure leaves a void impossible to fill.

Born on March 6, 1985, in Cincinnati, OH, Jenni was a compassionate friend to all beings, human and animal alike. Jenni was an avid sports fan, especially for her Cincinnati Bengals and South Carolina Gamecocks and loved to travel, especially to Europe.  She was an accomplished sommelier and witty poet. Jenni's vibrant spirit illuminated every room she entered, and her wacky sense of humor will not be forgotten by those who were fortunate enough to know her. 

Jenni leaves behind her parents, Lee Ann (Richardson) Cox and Andy Cox; her beloved boyfriend, Danny Oberender and cherished dog, Tim Duncan; her sister, Jessica Cox Hill (Rich Hill) and brother, Jeff Cox (Hayley Nelson); her adored nieces: Kensie and Fiona Cox and Vivian and Hunter Hill; grandfather, Bill Richardson; aunts and uncles: Bill Richardson and Bob Halcums, Mary and Mike Lee, Cheryl Richardson, Kelly and Tim Watkins, and Dan and Elaine Richardson; and many loving cousins and friends.

Jenni is preceded in death by her grandparents: Maurice and Beryl Jones Cox and Carol Bushan Richardson; and her great-aunt, Mary U. Jones. 

The funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 56 Center Street, Folly Beach, South Carolina. A reception will follow at Father Kelly Hall, 105 W. Hudson Avenue, Folly Beach, South Carolina. There will be a private interment.
