Jeanette Brownlee Napier

Jeanette Brownlee Napier, 69, of Johns Island, SC, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at her home surrounded by family and friends.  

Born on March 10, 1955, in Charleston, SC, she was the daughter of the late Dessie Clardy Brownlee and the late Parker Joseph Brownlee. 

Jeanette was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend.    She was a strong- willed and determined woman that loved God and her family above all else.  She committed her life to helping and supporting the people around and closest to her.  She was dedicated to her role in the Drug Court Team and her position as the Onsite Coordinator at Low Country Drug Screening.  She was a woman of true integrity, devotion, knowledge, and hard work.   She did not let anything stand in her way.  

Jeanette enjoyed watching the sunsets over the water at the home she and Robert built on Johns Island.  One of her greatest passions was decorating her home for the holidays.   She also loved spending time at the beach and her two beloved dogs, Ranger and Trigger.  

In addition to her parents, Jeanette is preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Brownlee and her granddaughter, Jasmine Napier.  

Jeanette is survived by her husband of 51 years, Robert Lee Napier; son, Robert Lee Napier III (Mary); daughter, Gretchen Napier Altine (Nick); brother, Charles Brownlee; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.  

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home West Ashley.

The memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home West Ashley.  A reception will follow at the Island Porch, 160 Main Rd. Johns Island, SC 29455.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
