Javier Arredondo, 59, of Charleston, South Carolina passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, April 23, 2017.
He was born on July 12, 1957 in Valle Hermosa, Mexico, son of Anselma Casa-Frayre and the late Victor Arredondo, Sr.
Javier was a hard working specialty welder at Detyens Shipyard and Collins Fabrication/CMMC. He enjoyed cooking for his family, attending concerts, and spoiling his grandbabies. After being diagnosed with advanced stage pancreatic cancer in February, he fought his cancer battle head on with courage and grace. His family will remember him as a generous, strong willed, stubborn man who would do anything for his family.
Javier is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Michelle Cleeton Arredondo of Charleston, SC; son, Michael Maynard of Charleston, SC; two daughters: Nicole Collier and her husband, John, of Jacksonville, FL and Natasha Jenrette and her husband, Ben, of Jacksonville, FL; three grandchildren: Iliana and Mia Jenrette, and Emma Collier; three sisters: Delores Holter of Hawaii, Christina Lowry of Elgin, IL and Thelma Boyas of Elgin IL; and brother, Victor Arredondo, Jr. of Charleston, SC.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home West Ashley Chapel, with a memorial service at 3:00 PM.
