Jane Keenan Millar

Jane Frances Keenan Millar, 80, of Mount Pleasant, SC wife to James Leonard Millar of Mount Pleasant, SC for 51 years, entered into eternal rest on March 23, 2022, surrounded by her family.

Born on June 12, 1941 in Charleston, SC Jane was a daughter of the late Norman B. Keenan Jr. and Frances Bremer Keenan.

Jane graduated from Bishop England High School in 1959 and entered the order of the Sister of Charity of Our Lady of Mercy on James Island. Jane attended Catherine Spaulding University for further education. After college Jane pursued something she always wanted to do, help and care for people. She decided on Nursing and entered St. Francis School of Nursing on Ashley Avenue. After graduation she went to work at St. Francis Xavier Hospital where she was fortunate enough to spend her entire career. She was a member of Stella Maris Catholic Church, loved golfing and playing with her grandchildren.

Besides her husband, Jane is survived by her three sons, James L. Millar Jr. (Jennifer), David N Millar (Ashley) and Adam K Millar (Robynn) and four grandchildren, Keenan, Lily Kate, Lucy, and River. She is also survived by two brothers, Norman B. Keenan (Wendy) and Michael B. Keenan (Carolyn) and one sister , Kathryn Keenan Dornetto (Louis). Jane was predeceased by two sisters, Muriel A. Keenan and Donna Keenan Byrd.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 28, 2022 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral and Cremation, 1520 Rifle Range Road, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464. A Rosary will be prayed at 5:00pm.

The Mass of Christian Burial service will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at 10:00am at Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, 1204 Middle Street, Sullivan's Island, SC 29482.

Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Road, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jane`s memory may be sent to: Our Lady of Mercy Outreach on Johns Island.
