Jane Burton Hiers

Jane Burton Hiers, 92, wife of the late Joseph F. Hiers, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2021 at Savanna House on James Island.
Jane was born October 27, 1928 in Gainesville, GA, daughter of the late Harry Wiley Burton and Bertie Tannery Burton. She was retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard.
Jane was a member of the St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Charleston where she was confirmed, married, and played the tambourine in the "All Ladies Fun Band." They played for different nursing homes, civic groups and senior citizen groups. St. Peter's Episcopal is now known as Church of the Good Shepherd.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews and a special friend and caregiver Inez Washington.
McAlister-Smith Funeral Home on James Island will be in charge of the funeral arrangements. A family graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at 11:00 am at Carolina Memorial Gardens in North Charleston, SC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to: Church of the Good Shepherd, 1393 Miles Drive, Charleston, SC 29407.
