James Williams Jr, 86 of Goose Creek, SC, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023 with his loving wife Veronica "Baby Doll" of 27 years by his side.
Born on October 9, 1936 in Newton Grove, NC he was a son of James Williams, Sr and Pauline Mathis Williams.
Proud US Airforce Veteran of 20 years and 14 days. He was a Vietnam Veteran and a receipient of the Bronze Star Medal. He and Veronica, who he fondly called Baby Doll lived in numerous locations including Alaska where they originally met. He loved to travel all over the world. He always had a joke for everyone. He was an avid fan of the Broncos and loved butter pecan ice cream and ate some everyday. His favorite place was Sri Lanka where his "Baby Doll" was born and raised, he had hoped to move there someday. He was a very hard worker and worked right up until his health declined at the NWS Commissary (his favorite place).
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother Charles Williams, and his daughter's Pamela Williams Dilosa and Michelle Williams.
James is survived by his loving wife Veronica (Baby Doll), his sons Donald Williams of Delaware, Elvis Matzelle (Denise) of Mt Pleasant, SC, a daughter Pina Arrington (Skip) of Goose Creek, SC, a son Brent Williams of Ladson, SC, a son John Matzelle of Goose Creek, SC, A sister, Sandra Newsome (Leonard) of Atlanta, GA. A grandson Shawn and 11 other grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren, a niece Maya, and a host of other nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 15th, 2023 from 5pm to 7pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral Chapel - Goose Creek, SC. A second visitation will take place on Saturday the 16th, 2023 from 10am to 12pm, also at McAlister-Smith Funeral Chapel, 869 St James Ave, Goose Creek, SC.
The funeral service will be held at 12pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral Chapel, 869 St James Ave, Goose Creek, SC 29445.
