James Theodore Rumph, 38 of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2022. James, the son of Theodora and Mark Hollifield and the late Harry L. Rumph III, was born on September 6, 1983, in Charleston, SC. He graduated from James Island High School and served in the US Coast Guard.
James was employed as a welder for Lexicon and was very involved in weight lifting and bodybuilding at local gyms.
He was preceded in death by his father Harry L. Rumph, III, grandparents Mr.& Mrs. Harry L. Rumph, Jr., and Mr.& Mrs. James C. Jenkins.
James is survived by his parents Theodora & Mark Hollifield, sister Natalie Brinckman (Kenny), brothers Harry Rumph, IV ( Brandy), Patrick Hollifield, and Cpl. Daniel Hollifield, USMC. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and three nieces, one nephew and one on the way, which he was very excited about!
He was preceded in death by his father Harry L. Rumph, III, grandparents Mr.& Mrs. Harry L. Rumph, Jr., and Mr.& Mrs. James C. Jenkins.

The family will receive friends and family on Thursday, May 5, 2022, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral and Cremation - James Island Chapel, 347 Folly Rd, Charleston, S.C. The burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
