Mr. James R Trivett , 87, a Fairfax Virginia resident died on Thursday, October 09, 2014 in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was born on Wednesday, August 3, 1927 in Chilhowie, VA to the late Mrs. Frankie Trivett and the late Mr. William Trivett. James was a devout Baptist and a long time member and deacon of Colchester Freewill Baptist Church in Nokesville Va. He worked for the County of Fairfax Va for 30 years as a bus mechanic before retiring and spending time with his family. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and his children, grandchildren and pets. After retiring he spent many years going to flea markets, yard sales and buying antiques to refinish and resell. He was kind spirit with a generous heart who will be greatly missed by all. James is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Dora Trivett of Fairfax Virginia; one daughter, Julie T. O'Reilly and her husband Sean P. O'Reilly, of Mount Pleasant, SC; one son, Mr. James R Trivett Jr. and his fiancee Rae Leach,of Haymarket, VA; four sisters, Mildred McPherson of Manassas, VA, Kathern Combs of Elkton MD, Eula Heath of Chilhowie, VA and Margaret Miller of West VA. Also five grandchildren: Ryan Patrick Sullivan, Tara Rae Sullivan, Thomas James Trivett, Taylor Nicole Trivett and Alexandra Nicole O'Reilly. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. He was blessed with a loving family and a long life. A Memorial Service will be held at Colchester Freewill Baptist Church,10405 Schaeffer Lane, Nokesville, VA 20181, on Monday, October 13, 2014 at 11:30 am. A luncheon reception to follow at 12:00 pm at the church and a graveside service at City of Fairfax Cemetery at 1:30 pm with Pastor Joel Slemp officiating. Memorial donations may be made in his honor to American Heart Association or any Christian Charity of your choice.
