James "Patrick" Portune

James "Patrick" Portune, Jr., 49 years old, of Johns Island, husband of Nicole Kansas, entered into eternal rest on September 14, 2021, surrounded by his family.

Born on March 7, 1972, in Savannah, GA, Patrick was the son of Linda Portune and James Patrick Portune, Sr., and the stepson of August Bretton. Patrick loved nothing more than enjoying the company of friends and family. He also was an avid golfer.

Besides his wife, Patrick is survived by his sisters, Angela (Portune) Clanton and her husband, Mark; Rachael (Portune) De Peyster, and her husband, Jeremy; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Joann, and Ted Kansas; brother-in-law, George Kansas (Jessica); sister-in-law, Theresa Bergeron (Jason); and stepbrothers August Bretton, Jr. (Nichole) and Justin Bretton (Lindsey). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 25, 2021, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon at McAlister-Smith Funeral and Cremation, James Island Chapel at 347 Folly Road. The Memorial Service will follow at 12:00 noon at the James Island Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Patrick's memory may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
