James McPherson "Mac" O'Neil

We are sad to announce that on February 16, 2024, at the age of 24, James McPherson "Mac" O’Neil passed away.

Born on September 6, 1999, in Atlanta, Georgia to Stephani McPherson O’Neil, Mac studied political science at Colorado State University and worked for AmeriCorps, where he gained experience in land and animal conservation to reach his goal of becoming a wildlife ranger.

Mac is preceded in death by his grandmother, Patricia Cady O’Neil.

Mac is survived by his mother, Stephani McPherson O’Neil, his grandparents, Don and Judy McPherson, and James R. O’Neil, his uncles Mark McPherson (Lexi), Kevin O’Neil (Mary Frances) and aunts Ashley McPherson and Erin O’Neil Cantrell along with a plethora of cousins. Mac was also especially close to his great uncle, Stevie Riggs.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at The Washout Restaurant on 41 Center Street, Folly Beach, SC.
