Mr. James Levern Edwards, 85, of Summerville, South Carolina passed away on February 18, 2016. Born in Galivants Ferry, SC to the late Tilman and Julie Edwards and husband to the late Bonnie Edwards. Levern graduated from Aynor High School and joined the United States Army. He was a Route Salesman for Derst Baking Company. Levern loved fishing, his grandchildren, great grandchildren and his church, Low Country Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include his son, Ronnie Edwards and his wife, Donna of Summerville, five grandchildren, Rhonda Maples and her husband, James of Hanahan, Brett Edwards of Summerville, Kristi Andrews and her husband, Victor of Summerville, Amber Broad and her husband, Trent of Summerville, and Travis Lemon and his wife Miranda of Graniteville; sister, Evelyn Huggins of St. George. Levern is also survived by twelve great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brothers, Hilton Edwards and Clarence Edwards and sisters, Marie Hardwick and Ruth Collins. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 21, 2016 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at MCALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, GOOSE CREEK CHAPEL. Funeral service will be held Monday, February 22, 2016, at 2:00pm in Low Country Free Will Baptist Church, 2720 Shadow Lane, North Charleston, SC 29406.
