Innis Charlene Brown, 72, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025, at 2:15 PM at the Medical University of South Carolina. She was born on January 6, 1953, in Port Chester, New York, and she was a daughter of the late Wilbur McClain and Marriette Brinney.
Innis was a graduate of Port Chester High School (1971), and she continued her education at Rochambeau Vocational School, New York (1972). She worked for K&W Cafeteria for 20 years, and then went on to work for Berkeley County School District for 13 years, and retired in 2023. She married Henry Lee Brown on December 29, 1981 in Summerville, South Carolina.
Innis was a generous, loving, and caring person. She was an amazing person with a huge heart for everyone. In addition, she loved her family, and she loved to bless people with gifts.
As well as her parents, Innis is preceded in death by her brothers, Kevin McClain and Allan McClain (NY); her sister, Rusalyn Walker (Late Sonny Walker) (NY); and her brother-in-law, Raymond Brown.
Innis is survived by her husband, Henry Brown; daughters, Rochele Taylor (Rohan Taylor) (SC) and Melinda Brown- Gethers (Shamon Gethers) (SC); grandchildren: Daniel Miller, Denzel Reid and Quentin Brown; sisters: Bernette Ferrell (Late Samuel Ferrell) (NC), Carolyn Jenkins (Late Walter Jenkins) (PA) and Victoria McClain (Maine); brothers, Keith McClain (Norway) and Jan Brinney (NY); sister-in-law, Janet Williams (Late Winford Williams) (SC); brothers-in-law: Louis Brown (GA), Gerry Brown (Joanne Brown) (RC), Anthony Brown (SC) and Herbert Elliott (Mary Elliott) (SC), and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at McAlister-Smith Funeral & Cremation - Goose Creek, 869 St. James Avenue in Goose Creek, South Carolina. The burial will be held at Beaufort National Cemetery - in Beaufort, South Carolina.
