Harold Gerald Miller

Harold Miller, 62, of West Columbia, SC, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2024.

Born on May 23, 1962, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Harold was the son of Harold Miller and Sara Frances Miller (Alford).

Harold attended multiple colleges in the Michigan and Pennsylvania areas. Harold went into nursing, primarily working at nursing homes up until his health deterred him from continuing in the workforce in 2008. Harold lived in Pennsylvania and West Columbia for the majority of his adult life. He loved reading, music, boats, and fishing. He loved to work in the yard and he was a fantastic cook! Harold was a member of the Baptist Church, for most of his life and later on attended the Methodist Church, Trinity United Methodist in West Columbia. 

Harold is preceded in death by his grandparents on his father's side of the family; a sister, Debbie Miller; along with his uncle, Robert "Bob" Miller.

Harold is survived by his parents, Harold Miller and Sara Frances Miller; his wife, Ellen Ann Hargrove Miller; his siblings, Jolene Miller, and Johnny Miller; his aunt, Donna Gilson; his nephew, Christopher Miller (Kristin); his niece, Nicole Miller-Ekbled (Robert); nephews, Josh and James Miller; nephew, Christopher Miller; and the fiancé of Christopher Miller, Kristen Luchene.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, West Columbia, SC, 29169.

The service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, 200 State Street in West Columbia, SC. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Agape Hospice Group, The American Heart Society, or the American Cancer Association.
