Mr. Gregory Jerome Branton, son of the late James Melvin Branton Sr. and Amanda Easterlin Branton, born April 11, 1957 in Albany, Georgia, but grew up on Johns Island, SC. Gregory received his education from St. Johns High. He was a Jack of all Trades. He was a certified steel worker and certified forklift operator. He was very active in sports and loved watching them. He was brought up in the First Baptist Church on Johns Island of Southern Baptist affiliation. He accepted Christ at the early age of 10 years old. He later became a member of Harbour Lake Baptist Church in 2006, where he continued to grow in his faith.
He married Sadie Dwight on May 14, 1983 and of their union were born two daughters; Kimberly Michelle and Sarah Elizabeth. He was also the stepfather to Eric, Lakecia, and Deadra. Very proud Grandfather of 8 beautiful grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Gregory was a loving and devoted family man. He also never met a stranger, if there was a need he could fill or fix he would.
Gregory always had a special bond with his sister Connie Thrasher, wherever he went she followed, that close bond continued until this day.
As Life on Earth ends a new life begins in Heaven on August 13, 2018, Gregory exchanged his earthly garments for his heavenly robe.
Gregory leaves to cherish, his loving mother Amanda Branton; wife Sadie Branton; daughters Kimberly Branton and Sarah Brunson (Robere); stepchildren Eric Stanley (Renee), Lakecia Stanley, and Deadra Stanley; grandchildren Kimora, Olivia, Ajay, Savanah, and Khalil; step grandchildren A’Keima, Imani, and Nalani. He is also survived by his brothers Fred L. Branton (Wanda), Roy Branton (Susan), Jeffrey Branton (Laura); and sisters Connie Thrasher (Tony-deceased), Ginny Murphy (Robert), Dee Dee Branton, Priscilla Fry (Clyde). Predeceased by brother James Branton Jr., and sister Helen Virginia Branton. Also survived by uncles, aunts, and a host of nieces and nephews, brother-in-law Jefferson Brown & sister-in-law Eartha Brown.
