Gordon Michael "Mike" Blanton

Gordon Michael “Mike” Blanton, 72 of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2022. Born on January 17, 1950 in Thomaston, GA he was a son of the late Edith W. Blanton and Oscar Blanton.

Mike was a 1972 graduate of Clemson University. He loved cheering his Tigers on every chance he had. He also enjoyed NASCAR, woodworking, putting models together, puzzles and even building computers. He was an avid dog lover; his grand pups were his pride and joy. 

Mike is survived by wife Elizabeth Blanton, son Jeremy Hawkins (Jennifer), daughter Gwen Hayden (Paul), daughter Becky Blanton, sister Linda Cope and niece Jennifer Cope Lagasse. He also had 2 grandsons, Jonathan and Jackson. 

Mike is preceded in death by parents Oscar and Edith Blanton, his brother Anthony Blanton and 2 nephews.

The memorial service will on Friday, December 30th 2022, at 2:00PM at McAlister-Smith, 347 Folly Rd in Charleston, SC.
