Glenn Andrew Saluter, of Summerville, South Carolina, passed away at the age of 81, on Thursday, January 30, 2025.
He was born on July 20, 1943 in Boston, Massachusetts. He was a son of Eleanor Young Saluter and Philip Arthur Saluter. He is survived by his wife, Arlene Saluter; daughter, Sonya Comes (and Ted); son, Glenn Jr. "Chip" (and Susan); and brothers, Gary and Dennis. He was predeceased by his brothers, Philip and Brett; and his sister, Jacquelyn.
Glenn was a grandfather to nine: Drew, Christina (and Jose), Tanner (and Sarah), Kimberly, Cole (and Diana), Ryanne, Taylor, Angela, and Teddy; and a great-grandfather to five: Gianna, Isabella, Arielle, Sofia, and Sienna; and looking forward to his first great-grandson in April and another great-grandchild in July.
Glenn was an Air Force Veteran and continued with 31 years of service as a cartographer with the Department of Defense, Defense Mapping Agency. He completed his career as the Director of the Rhode Island Office.
Glenn was a great promoter of youth activities, by coaching football, baseball, softball, and soccer. He loved playing all sports, including: golf, pickle-ball, tennis, softball, volleyball, racket-ball, and skiing. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
The family will receive friends for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 2:00 Pm - 4:00 PM, at the McAlister-Smith Funeral Chapel, Goose Creek.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to National Cancer Research Institute or St. Jude.
