George Kevin Andrews

George Kevin Andrews, 66 , of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2024. 

Born on September 30, 1957, in Fredericksburg, Virginia, he was a son of (the late) Burk and Mary Phillips Andrews. 

George, or as we refer to him, Kevin, grew up in Northern Virginia, and as the child of a marine officer, he travelled often across the US. He graduated from The Citadel in Charleston in 1979, followed by a fulfilling 44-year career in the Intelligence industry. He lived in both Bad Aibling, Germany and Harrogate, England for several years early during his career. He was an avid sports fan of the Washington Capitals and Nationals, and his love for sports was contagious to his whole family.

Kevin was a devoted and passionate husband and dad. His friends would say that his family was his greatest accomplishment and his pride and joy. If you ask them, they would say he was their rock. Some of their favorite memories were traveling the world with him, his calming presence, witty sense of humor and the unforgettable impact he had on everyone around him. His family will never be the same, but his endless love, selflessness, charm, and unforgettable memories will live within them forever.

Kevin is survived by his loving wife Katherine Andrews, daughter, Alexandra Andrews, son Cameron Andrews, sister, Sherryl Belinsky, and his brothers, Robert Andrews, and Gregory Andrews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 11:00 am in the Summerall Chapel at The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina. All are invited for a gathering and light lunch after the service at the Marriott Hotel, just a mile from the Citadel: 170 Lockwood Dr, Charleston, SC 29403.
